SkunkBeatManiac Blackened Gothic MDM. It's like mixing late Necrophobic with the beat and the synthesized sounds of 80's New Wave music. That sounds pretty bad in writing but they seem to have figured out the formula so it doesn't marginalize MDM fans. Most tracks still have the good speed and dark atmosphere. Synthesizers doesn't stick out too much, while they definitely make their sound unique. I sincerely enjoy this more than usual Symphonic MDM/Black albums with way too much keyboards. Favorite track: Voice Inside.

I heard a recent 2021 metal album that was, in two words, fucking atrocious (hint - the band starts with "Kos" & has some of the worst album art in recent memory). With the sound of that shitty album still ringing in my ears, I went to my go-to band to wash it away: Blaze of Perdition. This album is just so deep, complex & epic with my favorite Sonneillon vocals to date. But definitely check "Ashes Remain" the next time you hear a superficial band trying too hard.
